My Story

Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated with and have even collected (what I thought were) ‘special-looking’ rocks and gemstones. I have also been drawn to the healing and metaphysical properties of many different stones as well.

I have two amazing adult daughters, as well as a wonderful husband, who are all working on pursuing their passions, and they have also helped me find the confidence and courage to pursue my recently found passion in jewelry making.

After 40 years, I have found a very fulfilling, hidden talent in wire-wrapping, wire-weaving, and soldering, or even ‘fabricating’ pieces. I am finding that I can ‘play’ working on a piece for hours, which has been extremely cathartic, especially while dealing with some very stressful life situations.

I learned more about my maternal grandfather when I turned 40 years old than I had known my entire life up until then. He was killed in a motorcycle accident when my mother was only 14 years old, so I never got the pleasure of meeting him, but what’s worse, he never got the opportunity to ‘hone in’ and perfect his craft! I am honored and grateful that I have the talent and ability to create beautiful works of art. I even have the honor of continuing to work on some pieces that my grandfather had started, and I found some raw mineral that he was given the winter before he had passed.

I spent majority of 2023 taking metalsmithing, bezel setting, channel setting, prong setting, and lapidary classes at Denver Jewelry Studio, so that I could take my creations to the next level. In 2024, I started learning high-relief engraving through Denver Jewelry Studio, at one of their Master Classes taught by world-renowned custom knife-maker and engraving Master, Amayak Stepanyan.
